Tollguru Toll API Features

Tollguru REST API calculates tolls between locations, on routes using HTTP GET and POST requests. With the Toll API you can:

  • Search for tolls between locations (specified as location objects)
    • Returns sum of tolls and specific toll amounts for all toll locations for all logical routes between locations
    • You can specify locations as string (such as Toronto, Ontario, Canada), geo-coordinates (latitude, longitude) or Google Place ID
    • You can specify locations as origin, destination and waypoints
  • Search for tolls on a route (using Google route polyline)
  • Returns tolls for a route
    • Search for tolls on a route using GPS route coordinates from a mapping application on smartphone or a GPS device
    • Return tolls for a route when the GPS coordinates are approximate. They will be first snapped to road to get a route.
  • Search for tolls on a route using departure time. Departure time is optional parameter (uses current time by default). However, you can use departure time to receive tolls from variable toll facilities where tolls change based on the time-of-the-day or the day-of-the-week
  • Search for tolls on a route based on vehicle type. By default tolls are returned for cars and SUV with two tires on rear axle. You have option to query for vehicles based on axles (cars, SUV, pick-up, truck, motorcycle, bus, motorhome / RV, limousine). For cars, SUV, pick-up, and motorhomes (RV), you can query for one-axle trailer or two-axle trailers. For trucks you can query based on height and weight or axles (2-axles to 9-axles).
  • Search for tolls based on height and weight of your vehicle.
  • Specify driver wages to see an accurate calculation of the cheapest route.
  • Specify your value of time to see your optimal route.
  • Returns tolls for five payment types - cash, tag transponders (e.g., E-ZPass , TxTag , FasTrak , SunPass , FasTrak , ExpressToll , etc.), license plate tolls (e.g., Pay by Plate in California, ZipCash and Pay by Mail in Texas, Pay by Plate in Florida, License Plate Toll in Colorado, Camera Charges on ETR-407, etc.), credit card and prepaid cards (e.g. Nexpress, Nexus Card, etc.).
  • Returns tolls specific to transponders. Specifies the names of all transponders (For example, E-ZPass , TxTag , FasTrak , SunPass , FasTrak , ExpressToll , etc.) that can be used to pay the transponder toll.
  • Returns discounts for each toll location.
