Tolls on the Confederation Bridge are charged based on a vehicle’s axle count and are calculated for the round-trip, regardless of the user’s initial point of entry to Prince Edward Island. Bridge tolls are collected when travelling westbound, leaving Prince Edward Island at the toll plaza in Borden-Carleton, PE. Cash, Interac, and all major credit cards are accepted. Confederation Bridge tolls are tax-exempt.

The toll rates as of January 2018 are $47.00 for a two-axle automobile and $8.00 for each additional axle. Motorcycles are charged $18.50. While pedestrians and cyclists are not permitted to cross the bridge, but a shuttle service is available. Since January 1, 2015, the shuttle service charges are $4.50 per pedestrian or $8.75 per cyclist when leaving Prince Edward Island.
