M3 toll motorway

The M3 toll motorway[1] (Clonee – Kells) route is located in the North East of Ireland and links Dublin and the North – West. M3 toll motorway connects Clonee, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Navan, and Kells. The road is tolled between Junction 5 in Dunboyne, Junction 6 Dunshaughlin, Junction 9 in Navan North, and Junction 10 in Kells.

The motorway runs parallel to the existing N3 / R147 with frequent connections to the local network and consists of a total of 7 junctions. There are two toll plazas on the M3 motorway.

How to pay M3 toll

The M3 Motorway[3] accepts the following payment methods at their Toll Plazas.

  • Electronic Tag- Electronic Tolling offers the motorist to pay the toll without stopping at the toll booth.
  • Credit/Debit Card- Credit/Debit cards are accepted in all lanes including semi-automatic lanes on M3 toll motorway. M3 toll currently accepts VISA and Mastercard cards only. 
  • Cash- Cash payment on the M3 toll can be made in Euros at both manned and semi-automatic lanes. As an additional service to the motorists passing by, Sterling is also accepted at manned lanes. Copper coins are not accepted in these lanes. of M3 toll motorway
  • Prepayment Cards- Prepayment cards can be purchased at our Customer Service Office. These cards offer the customer a discount of 10% on the appropriate toll charge when the customer prepays for 20 trips. To get more information about prepayment cards in Ireland visit here[4].
