Do I Need FasTrak for California? 2026 Update

The Golden Gate Bridge is fully cashless — no booths accept physical payment. All tolls collected southbound only. Walking and cycling the bridge is free. Note on 91 Express Lanes: the Riverside County segment above is genuinely real-time dynamic pricing (adjusts as often as every 3 minutes). The Orange County segment uses a different mechanism - a fixed schedule that varies by day of week and time of day rather than real-time congestion, per OCTA. A separate holiday toll schedule also applies around Christmas, New Year's, and July 4th, with adjusted rates on the days immediately before/after. A "Three Ride Free" program lets vehicles with 3+ occupants travel free, confirmed by OCTA - this is not reflected in the rate range above.

17-Mile Drive (Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove)

Unlike the toll roads and bridges above, 17-Mile Drive is a privately owned scenic road through Pebble Beach, not part of the FasTrak network. Confirmed directly via pebblebeach.com:
