Ohio Turnpike
The Ohio Turnpike[1] is a 242-mile-long toll road that connects Chicago and Pittsburgh. It is owned and maintained by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission (OTIC). The turnpike is part of the three interstates: I-76, I-80, and I-90.
A 2-axle car pays $14.75 E-ZPass toll and $21.50 Non E-ZPass tag (cash, credit card) toll to travel from Eastgate to Westgate.
How to pay toll on Ohio turnpike
Here are the ways to pay tolls on the Ohio Turnpike:
- E-ZPass[2] is the most convenient way to pay tolls. You will need to purchase an E-ZPass transponder and register it with the Ohio Turnpike. Once your transponder is registered, you can drive through the E-ZPass lanes and your toll will be automatically deducted from your account.
- Pay-by-plate is available for vehicles that do not have an E-ZPass transponder. When you drive through a toll plaza, your license plate number will be photographed and your toll will be mailed to you.

How to pay missed toll in Ohio
Ohio Turnpike[4] has a gated system at the toll booths. This means that motorists cannot pass through the toll booth without paying a toll. This eliminates the possibility of toll violations or missed tolls. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
If you are using cash or credit card, you will need to have the exact amount of money ready. The toll booths do not give change.
