Montenegro[1], a part of the Balkan region, is bounded by the Adriatic Sea and Croatia (southwest), Bosnia and Herzegovina (northwest), Serbia (northeast), Kosovo (east), and Albania (southeast). Sozina tunnel is the only toll road in Montenegro. The Beograd-Bar a motorway which connects the harbor of Bar with Serbia is under construction.

Sozina Tunnel location and where to pay

Sozina tunnel is a road tunnel which is a part of M-1.1 highway. It runs between Lake Skadar and the coast bypassing the "Paštrovska Gora" mountain range. While coming from Podgorica, Tunnel charges are paid at the entrance. This road can be avoided by taking M2 which runs from Virpazar to Petrovac.

Toll fee is € 2.5 for a single trip in a car. Toll rates[2] are classified based on the number of axles, height and weight of the vehicle.

Payment methods at Sozina Tunnel

Tolls can be paid using cash, bank cards, prepaid smart-cards issued by Monteput. There is a special lane for vehicles equipped with TAG, an electronic device which is read with the microwave antenna. Discounts are available for smart-cards based on the trip count.
